TESLAChair Sunshine Coast

The TESLAChair is a breakthrough treatment for incontinence and pelvic floor concerns. This unique technology provides those suffering from incontinence with a completely non-invasive and medically tested option for management of symptoms.

TESLAChair for Urinary Incontinence

The TESLAChair was developed to treat weakened pelvic floor muscles and urinary incontinence using Functional Magnetic Stimulation (FMS) technology. The pulsed magnetic field generated by the device causes the muscles of the pelvic floor to contract. This therapy is suitable for all kinds of urinary and faecal incontinence. FMS also helps patients with sexual dysfunction and chronic pain in the pelvic region and lumbar spine. The magnetic stimulation promotes increased strength and endurance in the pelvic region and pelvic floor muscles.

TESLAChair for Lower Back

The new TESLAChair treatment is considered a reliable therapy for problems in the lower back area. The treatment stimulates muscles and accelerates circulation without direct contact with the skin. The therapy procedure is simple, and the patient does not require special preparation. During the therapy, the patient simply sits in the chair. Stimulation of the lower back can be accurately targeted by changing the position of the applicator in the chair backrest.

Outcomes

Due to the unique and comfort-oriented design, the device is able to treat and manage a range of symptoms non-invasively. Stimulating the muscles helps patients improve their circulation and manage their symptoms without pain, discomfort, or invasive methods. Patients remain fully clothed for the procedure, and there is virtually no pain associated, making it a preferred choice for many people seeking treatment for incontinence.

Some of the benefits of TESLAChair treatment include:

  • Deep stimulation of muscular structures
  • More active than electrostimulation
  • Non-invasive therapy
  • Suitable for patients where electrotherapy cannot be used
  • No skin contact
  • Hands-free operation

The outcomes may vary according to the patient and the concerns they wish to treat. Pursue your TESLA Chair treatment plan with Dr Grant Fraser-Kirk by seeking a personalised consultation.

If you are suffering from weakened pelvic floor muscles or incontinence, book your consultation to discuss your symptoms with Dr Grant Fraser-Kirk in the Sunshine Coast.

Pilot Study Results

The pilot study for this non-invasive procedure produced promising results, reducing the symptoms of various types of incontinence.

The study was conducted using 16 treatment sessions with the TESLAChair, and the results were collected in three independent centres with 160 female patients. Thirty-six women were treated for urge urinary incontinence (UUI), 42 women were treated for mixed urinary incontinence (MUI), 61 women were treated for stress urinary incontinence (SUI), and 21 women were treated for urinary incontinence after childbirth.

The study showed noticeable improvement in urge, mixed, and stress incontinence from TESLAChair treatment. It also showed significant improvements in women treated for urinary incontinence after childbirth.

Consultation with Dr Fraser-Kirk

A personalised TESLAChair treatment begins with a consultation. Specialist Plastic Surgeon on the Sunshine Coast, Dr Fraser-Kirk, will assess your condition and ask about your symptoms, health, and any previous treatments. Your treatment plan will then target your symptoms by stimulating the pelvic floor muscles, encouraging blood flow, and helping to relieve pelvic floor dysfunction and lower back pain.

Consulting with a medical practitioner is the best way to attain accurate information about what kind of treatment plan is suitable for you. Dr Fraser-Kirk upholds the goals and needs of individual patients, helping them towards their desired results. Book your appointment to speak with Dr Fraser-Kirk about whether TESLAChair therapy may help relieve your symptoms.

TESLAChair Functional Magnetic Stimulation FAQ

What is FMS?

FMS stands for Functional Magnetic Stimulation which delivers up to 3 tesla. A special magnetic field is generated by a pulse of current inside the EM (electro magnetic) mechanism, and this induces a current that triggers the motor nerve system of the body, stimulating the targeted muscles to contract, and helping to boost circulation and nutrition.

What does treatment feel like?

Patients are seated and fully clothed when being treated in the comfortable TESLA Chair. The therapy is non-invasive, painless and without any known side effects.

You will be encouraged to concentrate on muscle contraction during the stimulation. This facilitates the implementation of active learning exercises.

How does this fractional laser resurfacing differ from other laser treatments?

The Fraxel laser used by our team is a widely trusted device, backed by ample peer-reviewed literature and clinical experience. It is non-ablative but features greater customisation and efficacy than other laser procedures.

Is it suitable for my problem?

The treatment is suitable for all types of urinary and faecal incontinence. It is used for faster rehabilitation after surgeries in the urogenital area, after childbirth and for some sexual dysfunction and chronic pelvic and lower back pain. You will complete a questionnaire and receive a physical examination as part of your assessment for treatment.
